#1: Drawing:  Materials & Techniques

Living Room Sketch

Students will receive a hardcover Art Journal when they register for their first class. This class is especially geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of drawing what you see, exploring techniques and drawing from observation. A variety of drawing materials will be explored, including charcoal, pastel, pencils and ink. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in drawing.

#3: Acrylic Painting on Canvas and Other Surfaces

Students will have access to use the supplies at the art studio or can bring their own. This class is geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of Acrylic painting, exploring on canvas and other surfaces including paper and wood, the many types of acrylic paints and brushes as well as tips for  painting with this fast-drying, permanent paint medium. A variety of techniques will be explored, including layering, color mixing, blending, washes, mediums and gels. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in acrylic painting.

#5: Polymer Clay, Air-Dry Clay & 3D Sculpture

Students will have access to sculpture supplies at the studio. This class shows the steps of envisioning a 3D sculpture, sketching, model making, armatures with foil, Polymer clay and Air-Dry Clay. Animation and Claymation are also discussed.

#7: Maker Space - Kaleidoscopes and Other Upcycled 3D Materials

Students who love to explore materials and discover something new will enjoy our Makerspace. We have project ideas which include Kaleidoscopes and robots as well as a huge collection of Upcycled 3D Materials. Choose this class if you love to invent, discover, create, and play with art supplies!

#9: Stitching and Sewing

Students will explore a range of sewing techniques and materials and make their own projects. This class is geared toward making wearable art, handbags, pillows and stuffies! This easy follow along class is geared to students just starting out in sewing, planning a project, creating a pattern, the types of fabrics, yarns, thread, embroidery stitches, strings and embellishments. We will cover the Basics of hand stitching and machine stitching.

#2: Collage Art & Journaling

Scrapbook

Students will receive a hardcover Art Journal when they register for their first class. Students are encouraged to bring their own sketches, inspirational ideas, materials and toolboxes. Additionally, Scrapbooking Students have access to 760 workshop supplies and tools:  including easels, workshop tables, lightboxes, collage materials, printmaking, wood working tools, and other cool art equipment.

#4: Watercolor Painting

Students will have access to use the watercolor supplies at the art studio or can bring their own watercolor supplies. This class is geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of watercolor painting, exploring types of paper, paints and brushes as well as tips for painting with this transparent medium. A variety of watercolor techniques will be explored, including washes, resists,  dry brush, drawing with pencils and ink. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in watercolor painting.

#6: Puppetry & Marionettes 

Puppets with Strings

Students will have access to a wide variety puppet making  supplies at the studio. This class shows the steps of envisioning  and creating a character, props and set design. Students will learn about a variety of puppet forms including hand-puppets and marionettes as well as using a wide range of art materials including papier mache, wire, wood, yarn, felt and other sculptural material. 

#8: Beading and UV Resin Jewelry.

Making a Necklace

Students can explore a wide range of Beading techniques and make their own UV Resin Jewelry. This class is geared toward making wearable art. Bracelets, pendants, necklaces, rings and more. This easy follow along class is geared to students just starting out in beading, exploring the types of beads, strings, wires, clasps and methods for beading. UV Resin charms will add to the unique jewelry project!

#10: Papercraft-3D Paper Sculpture and Origami

Students will learn many techniques in 3D paper craft. From card making and pop-ups to 3D moveable animals, mobiles, stabiles and origami animals and paper airplanes. This class explores different types of paper and cardstock, ways to attach paper with glue, tape and other fasteners. We will learn about the ancient art of paper folding and model making and see how far it has come with very cool STEM paper sculptures and 3D papercrafting of the future!
