Students will receive a hardcover Art Journal when they register for their first class. This class is especially geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of drawing what you see, exploring techniques and drawing from observation. A variety of drawing materials will be explored, including charcoal, pastel, pencils and ink. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in drawing.
This class introduces students to the expressive and dramatic world of charcoal drawing. Artists will explore foundational techniques such as shading, blending, smudging, and contrast to create depth and dimension in their work. Using both vine and compressed charcoal, students will experiment with still life, portraits, and imaginative compositions while learning to control this bold and dynamic medium. Perfect for artists who love to draw and want to expand their skills in a new, hands-on way.
Students will receive a hardcover Art Journal upon registering for their first class and are encouraged to bring their own sketches, inspirational ideas, materials, and toolboxes. This class invites students to explore self-expression through mixed-media techniques like collage, decoupage, and creative journaling. Artists will have access to Art Studio 760’s workshop supplies and tools—including easels, lightboxes, printmaking materials, woodworking tools, and an exciting collection of upcycled collage supplies—to create layered, personal, and meaningful works of art.
Students will have access to use the supplies at the art studio or can bring their own. This class is geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of Acrylic painting, exploring on canvas and other surfaces including paper and wood, the many types of acrylic paints and brushes as well as tips for painting with this fast-drying, permanent paint medium. A variety of techniques will be explored, including layering, color mixing, blending, washes, mediums and gels. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in acrylic painting.
Students will have access to use the watercolor supplies at the art studio or can bring their own watercolor supplies. This class is geared toward those who would like a foundation in the basics of watercolor painting, exploring types of paper, paints and brushes as well as tips for painting with this transparent medium. A variety of watercolor techniques will be explored, including washes, resists, dry brush, drawing with pencils and ink. Students are encouraged to discuss their current experience level with the teacher and work on a personalized art lesson to work on specific goals in watercolor painting.
In this class, students will learn the foundations of oil painting while working on canvas. From color mixing and brush techniques to layering and blending, young artists will explore how to bring their ideas to life using rich, vibrant oil paints. Guided by professional instruction, students will develop their own painting style while gaining confidence with this classic medium. Each session offers the opportunity to create expressive, gallery-worthy artwork in a supportive studio setting.
Students will explore the fundamentals of 3D art through air-dry clay and papercraft techniques. From sculpting with clay and building foil armatures to creating imaginative paper sculptures and origami, this class encourages hands-on discovery and creative play. With access to upcycled materials and a variety of tools, young artists will invent, experiment, and bring their ideas to life in three dimensions.
